Home Made Pontoon Rod Holders

my mother! WHAT IF Lovecraft was right?

"At the Mountains of Madness" ("At the mountains of madness") is one of the most interesting outputs the pen of HP Lovecraft . In it, a scientific expedition to Antarctica ends discover the unthinkable: the ruins of earlier cities to humans, lifted by primitive races of strange creatures.

thought about this the other day, when I read that they discovered a large population abyssal Antarctic crinoids on seamounts in a place not far from the stage that served as the good writer for your story.
not be feared by the finding in itself because the crinoids are an alien race far. Its appearance is something like

But it is striking that, after exploring the world everywhere, still make discoveries strangers on wildlife.
Of course, our friend Lovecraft was much more radical. Did not give it to imagine these delicate creatures underwater, but he thought big: primal gods, ancient and malevolent beings races coming out of pits and space.

The question is to think for a moment how things would be if Lovecraft was right. And someone who was ahead of this idea is Andrea Bonazzi, an Italian artist who has an extensive portfolio dedicated to converting the HPL fantasies and literary circle.

For example, here have a photo montage displayed where Lovecraft and his colleague Robert Howard posing with a strange tablet populated hieroglyphic inscriptions of ancient races:

other mounting
This is Lovecraft who appears next to a relic, obviously, like a monolith dedicated to Cthulhu:

And we also have this other assembly, deliciously appropriate to illustrate the Antarctic expedition from Miskatonic University: Lovecraft is posing with another mysterious tablet.

also find various sculptures and figurines that the artist has worked to appear genuine archaeological finds are just as disturbing as the Lovecraftian mythology:

no shortage no references to the central book of the universe of HPL
The artist has created individual pages of the "original" of the Necronomicon:

And the list of creations includes up pipes of ancient marine decorated with references to religion prohibited:

Honestly, I think it is exquisite works that are, in themselves, a tribute to a writer that was not recognized in life. Imagine that today, amid the editorial realm of best sellers and the prevailing lack of creativity in Hollywood, Lovecraft taquito play.

And speaking of movies, for good measure I'll tell you what they say: that Guillermo del Toro will direct an adaptation of "At the Mountains of Madness", with the addition of James Cameron as producer and, unfortunately, with Tom Cruise in the lead role.
Time will tell if they end making a masterpiece with this fabulous material or, alternatively, be sent yet another silly thing (Chtulhu's curse fall on them if they screw up.) I leave

the link to the page Andrea Bonazzi, because there are many more things to see in it.
